What can you expect during Carnival in Ostend?
Friday evening: - Kick-off of the carnival weekend with an evening parade heading towards the Wellington Hippodrome (route: Leopold II-laan → Oosthelling → Albert I-promenade), starting at 21:00. - Afterwards: carnival ball in the Bagatelle at the Wellington Hippodrome, with live performances and DJ.
Saturday afternoon - From 15:00: Children's parade, starting at Sint-Petrus-en-Paulusplein and ending at the Zeeheldenplein. - Around 16:30: “Kloeffeworp” at the Groentemarkt (children throw sweets and toys), followed by live music and a pub crawl.
Sunday afternoon - Grand parade at 15:00: from Petit Paris via the town hall, Visserskaai to Zeeheldenplein. - At 17:30: Kloeffeworp from the Kursaal balcony. - Then: closing carnival ball in the Kursaal until about 21:45, with performances, music and DJ.
